L’annuncio è arrivato dal ministro Matt Hancock, che ha evocato sanzioni pecuniarie da 500 a 10.000 sterline per i trasgressori e fino a 10 anni di carcere per i recidivi. I viaggiatori in arrivo da 33 Paesi (Italia esclusa) saranno tenuti ad effettuare un isolamento in hotel sorvegliati, e non in casa. Saranno addebitati inoltre i costi pari a 1750 sterline per vitto, alloggio, trasporto e test.
