L’Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, che ogni anno assegna i premi Oscar, ha invitato 819 persone nella giuria che voterà i film eleggibili per l’ambitissimo premio. Tra i nomi che hanno ricevuto l’invito ci sono anche illustri personalità del cinema italiano come, ad esempio, Pierfrancesco Favino e Francesca Archibugi.
Pierfrancesco Favino e Francesca Archibugi sono fra gli italiani ufficialmente invitati ad entrare nell’Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, che ogni anno si occupa dell’organizzazione e dell’assegnazione degli ambitissimi Oscar. Ma non sono gli unici due italiani tra gli 819 invitati.

I nuovi membri, nel caso accettassero tutti l’invito, porterebbero il numero dei votanti dell’Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences a quota 9412. Il lunghissimo elenco degli invitati, diviso per categorie, mostra un’attenzione particolare alla varietà di genere e provenienza: gli invitati, infatti, provengono 68 nazioni diverse, il 36% di loro fa parte di minoranze poco rappresentate e il 45% degli inviti è stato recapitato a donne. Chi entrerà nell’organizzazione potrà votare in vista della cerimonia di consegna degli Oscar 2021, che si svolgerà il 25 aprile 2021, sensibilmente in ritardo rispetto al periodo usuale a causa dello stop dell’industria imposto dal Covid-19.
I nomi più celebri
Tra i nomi più noti nell’elenco degli invitati spiccano, ad esempio, Yalitza Aparicio (Roma), Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Pierfrancesco Favino (Il Traditore), Awkwafina (The Farewell), Constance Wu (Crazy & Rich), Zendaya Coleman (Spider-Man: Far from Home), Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story), Ben Mendelsohn (Babyteeth) e le registe italiana Francesca Archibugi, Cristina Comencini e Maria Sole Tognazzi. Ma la lista è enorme e contiene alcune interessanti scelte come quella di Zack Gottsagen (The Peanut Butter Falcon), che potrebbe diventare il primo attore con sindrome di Down a far parte dell’Academy, Robert Eggers (The Lightshouse) e Ari Aster (Midsommar).
